About us

Grandpa built sheds. We build distance that is just right.

Twelve metres between your back door and your mother's. Close enough for soup, far enough for a life of your own. We have been building towards that for three generations: at first without knowing it, now very deliberately.

§ 01 · From shed to garden home
1963

Grandpa Hendrik's shed

Grandpa starts a carpentry workshop at home. Barns, hay barns and one legendary pigeon loft.

1994

The first complete home

Dad and Jan build their first complete home: in sections, on the lorry, assembled in three days.

2011

The little house for mother

We build a small home for our own mother behind Jan's house. The neighbour wants one too. And so does her sister.

2017

The factory in Ede

We move into a proper factory hall and start building entirely in dry, controlled conditions.

2026

340 homes later

Twenty-eight craftspeople, one family, and every week a crane above a back garden somewhere in the Netherlands.

§ 02 · The house rules

Five rules Grandpa already lived by. So do we.

1

Listen first, then draw

Grandpa always had a coffee first. The best design is in the story, not in the catalogue.

2

What we promise is on paper

Price, schedule and who to call with questions: in black and white, before we start.

3

No subcontractors

The people who build your home also install it. And come back to do the maintenance five years from now.

4

Build as if it's for mother

Since 2011 that has no longer been a figure of speech. Every home gets the mother test.

5

Leave things tidy

After installation, the property is cleaner than we found it. Your children's garden is home too.
